Hey All

Just wanted to say what's up?!? I wonder how everyone is doing after all this time. I don't know if anyone still checks on this group or if you guys are even together anymore but I wanted to say hi.

Here is one of my new bands that I've been playing with for about a year:

The Whiskey

We played at the world famous WHISKEY A GO GO last night. The show went pretty good and it was recorded on DVD and we are hopefully gonna make copies of it and sell it to the public. This show was the last show for Omar Lopez. He offically left the band after our set. We are going to miss him a lot. We have our friend and producer for our first demo Jesse filling in for us until we find a permanent replacement.

We have a bunch of new ideas for songs and we are trying them out and have 1 new song completley done. The song is called on "On My Own". Albert wrote the song (after I gave him ideas on the lyrics from the events of 2 days before) and I put the stucture of the music together. The song is about how a realationship takes a bad turn and ends with the hope of getting back together.

The Setlist:
1. Jazz Van
2. Escuchame
3. Broken
4. You Left Me
5. Minute for a Mile
6. Wasted
7. On My Own (DNP - replaced with PUSH)

Keep checking for more updates,

WE WON...

4/40 won battle of the bands in Santa Monica. We are all excited about it and suprised at the same time about it. We came into the buiding with just enough money for gas and to pay for the tickets. Matt and Albert were not feeling good. My drumset was fucked up and not set up how I really wanted it becuase my parts didnt come in on time. We were the opening band and also the test rats for the PA system because they had no mixer until about 10 minutes before we were supposed to go on.

The setlist went like this:
1. Jazz Van
2. Broken
3. Escuchame
4. You Left Me
5. PUSH
6. Minute For A Mile (DNP - Short of Time)
7. Wasted

News...

Roman Flores is no longer in 4/40. This decision was made by the remaining members of the band. We wish to thank Roman for all that he has done with us and for us. We have a show coming up on the 24th of this month at The TB4 Productions "Battle of The Bands". The club we are going to play at is called "The Space" The show starts at 8 and we are the first band to play that night. These are the other bands that are playing: Side Order, L.O.M.A.H, and The Revelent. We are selling tickets for this show and they are $10 each. They are gonna cost $12 at the door in Santa Monica. I hope you all can make it over there.

Later on,

The Roxy

4/40 played at the world - famous Roxy on sunset blvd. in Hollywood last night. We put on a good show and we had a good response to our music. Our setlist was in this order:

1.Broken
2.Minute For A Mile
3.You Left Me
4.Embrace
5.Escuchame
6.Push

It went really good and met other bands that played that night and they were just awsome to talk to. We all had a great time there. It felt great to play the same stage that most of our influences played on years ago.

HeY, Yes I'm still here!

Hi everyone.

I had a much needed talk with Omar and Matt today about staying in the band, etc. on their way from Brawley to EC and of course I'm going to ride this 4/40 pony as long as I can, lol.

Guys (band members):

I'm sorry for being so reclusive this vacation after the gig on the 23rd. I was busy with my own shit (holiday, university stuff including practicing pieces for tryouts for their music department) as well as the situation with the busted violin. No, this isn't any type of excuse, I'm just stating it as fact.
Yes, I should have called to find out about practices and such but I didn't see a point since I didn't have an instrument and my (violin) parts are always (or should always be) the last edition to a song, old or new. It was communication problems really, we both expected calls from each other so nobody got a *ring*. Our schedules were/are all fuggin wacked out and I didn't know that phone calls the DaY oF were the way plans for practices were goin down.

I'm really glad we had that talk today to straighten shit out. We now know what we expect from each other/what you guys expect from me/whatever the problem was and I'm willing, as I've always been, to correct mistakes and keep the lines of communication flowing.

I'll check in when I get off classes from now on and let you know how repairs with the lil bitch, I mean, my violin are going.

PEACE
